Steve and Willa hadn't yet decided on the middle name - the choices were Grace, and Elsinore. Sydney was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and tied in a knot. According to Ann Ramsey, the midwife (for all three of the Ibach children to this point) indicated that she'd only seen this happen about 10 times in her career (many babies!), and in most cases resulted in the death of the child. Because Willa and Steve felt that it was through the Grace of God that Sydney was unharmed, the choice of her middle name became obvious. She was baptized on Nov 7 1999 in Covenant Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, TN. ⁽¹⁴⁰⁾
303 iv. Joseph Clay Ibach was born on Dec 21 2000 in Women's Pavilion East, Chattanooga, TN.⁽¹²⁵⁾ Born at 18:48. Weighed 7lb 10oz. 21" long. He was named after Gerald Clay Williamson. ⁽¹⁴¹⁾
304 v. Noah Gilbert Ibach was born on May 5 2002 in Women's Pavilion East, Chattanooga, TN. Noah is the grandson of the author. He was born at 11:17 PM, weighed 7 lbs 2 oz, and was 19" long. He was named after Ricardo Gilbert.
